Setting a Date for UFLB's 2022 Entry Auction

With the season well underway across Ultimate Fantasy League Baseball (UFLB), it's time to cast an eye forward to the next wave of talent, as the Entry Auction is on the horizon!

The UFLB Entry Auction will take place on Saturday, July 23rd at 8pm ET/5pm PT, and is expected to last a few hours. Teams will enter the draft room using their draft picks over the course of two rounds, will be admitted in groups of five, and once a team has made a selection, that team will be removed from the draft room to allow the next team into the bidding process.

Selections will be limited to players taken by MLB franchises in the MLB Draft itself, which takes place between July 17 and 19.

Minimum bids for each draft position will be set using a variety of factors, including how much players went for in the Top Prospects Auction, and whether or not they were registered on the Open Market.

As per the UFLB Rulebook, players taken in the 2022 Entry Draft Auction can be placed on the draft pick reserve list for the 2022 season (which will be housed on the UFLB Master Sheet). These players will not count towards a franchise's 40-man roster. The usage of the reserve list will end when the minor league system is finalized and constructed within the next few UFLB/MLB seasons.

Any questions can be directed to Craig Ballard (Baseball Head of Sport), Matt Soren (UFLB Co-Commissioner), Sho Alli (UFLB Co-Commissioner), or Bryan Hernandez (UFLB Director of Scouting).
