Zilliqa and UFF Sports partner to leverage NFTs and blockchain technology
The NFL Alumni Association has partnered with UFF Sports and Zilliqa to create and promote the first-ever professional Legends Fantasy Football NFT League that is attached to the real players.
The Ultimate Fantasy American Football League (UFAFL) and American Football Legends League (AFLL) is an NFT-based fantasy football innovation that will stream revenue back to the people that deserve it — the players. The AFLL will be high stakes with the world’s best simulated fantasy players coaching the Legends in this one-of-a-kind league, powered by Zilliqa.
“UFFS is very proud and honoured to be a part of this powerful announcement that merges the greatest American football stars of all time with Zilliqa, the world’s most powerful NFT blockchain, and UFFS, the platform that brings professional fantasy sports to the NFT space,” said Tony Charanduk, UFF Sports president and co-founder.

Zilliqa is the first public blockchain built entirely on a sharded architecture that’s scalable, secure, decentralized, fast and low cost. Designed in academia, Zilliqa’s advancement enables thousands of low-cost transactions per second and the creation of safe and secure smart contracts using the Scilla language.
Zilliqa will now be recognized as the official blockchain and cryptocurrency of the NFLA, to work with the entire NFLA membership and utilize its platforms — more specifically, by educating members on the use and benefits of leveraging $Zil in their everyday lives.
“Zilliqa is delighted to join with UFFS to become a Diamond Enterprise Partner of the National Football League Alumni (NFLA). It is a fantastic association that has an impactful mission to support not just former NFL players and coaches, but also cheerleaders and even stadium staff who have contributed to the NFL’s success over the years,” said Colin Miles, Zilliqa’s Chief Commercial Officer and Co-CEO. “The NFLA has the support of some of the greatest players ever to grace the Gridiron. And Zilliqa is proud to assist the NFLA in providing players with a compelling way to manage their valuable image rights in the amazing, fan-fuelled world of NFTs. Both parties can deliver tokens that provide an everlasting connection (and returns) to players that will be with them forever on the Zilliqa blockchain.”

The American Football Legends League (AFLL) will immortalize the greatest players in NFL history as part of the most in-depth and interactive fantasy football simulation ever created. Only 32 franchises will be auctioned off (and be their own NFT), plus each legend is a 1-of-1 fantasy player. Roster sizes will be extensive and include offensive linemen.
Spanning multiple eras, there will be individual NFL alumni player NFTs auctioned off over the coming weeks, months and years. The UFFS platform provides perpetual revenue streams for the retired players and their families through NFT sales, gameplay earnings, betting, merchandise, collectibles and other avenues.
The AFLL franchise auction sale will take place Sept. 16-18, 2021, with proceeds going towards the large prize pool and league development. The inaugural AFLL season is scheduled to kick off on Feb. 6, 2022 — on Pro Bowl Sunday — as part of a 17-week season, plus playoffs.
Before the AFLL gets rolling, the current generation of NFL players will be represented in the Ultimate Fantasy American Football League (UFAFL), which will mirror the NFL as closely as possible with only 32 franchises, adherence to the salary cap, and an advanced scoring system based on real world stats.
